Sewer

The public sewer utility for Westphalia is owned and operated by the City of Westphalia. An application for new service hook-up can be obtained from the City Clerk. The Public Water Supply District #2 of Osage County contracts with the City of Westphalia to provide billing services for the City’s sewer service.

Trash & Recycling

The City of Westphalia has a contract with Republic Service for citywide trash pick-up, for both residential and commercial customers.  Residential trash is picked up on Tuesday mornings and must be bagged, boxed, or tied in bundles. No dirt, cement, batteries, used oil; tires, building materials, yard waste or barrels will be collected. No appliances may be left curbside. 

The City of Westphalia hosts annually a fall cleanup event where bulk containers are provided for City residents.   A mailer is sent out to City residents notifying of the event and denoting event details. 

The City of Westphalia also provides a recycling bin, located on the Osage County R-3 parking lot, for those wishing to recycle. The recycling bin gets picked up once every other week.  The following items can be recycled:

• • • Aluminum cans, trays and foils (no food contamination)
    • Steel cans, tin and aerosol ~Plastic #’s 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 7 – (refer to chasing arrows)
    • Paper, phone books, magazines, books (no hard cover)
    • Cardboard and chipboard (pizza, cereal, cake, food and soda can boxes)

Materials NOT accepted in the container

    • NO PLASTIC BAGS OR SLEEVES
    • NO EXPANDED FOAM OR CLEAR POLYSTYRENE (#6-STYROFOAM PLATES, CUPS, ETC.)

The City of Westphalia is provided with electric services by Ameren MO.
